Instructional Designer/ Developer
Job Description This position is an instructional designer (or curriculum developer) role, and will have primary accountability for producing training courses in online and instructor led formats. This person will report to and work with the Senior Learning Consultant to identify learning needs and strategies, and work with SME's in developing e-learning and instructor led materials using a rapid prototyping ADDIE methodology. While primarily a development role, delivering training at train-the-trainer and pilot events is also required.
Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop learning materials using a rapid prototyping ADDIE methodology to produce self-paced e-learning (courseware and web-based modules), as well as instructor-led targeted to meet learning or other performance improvement needs for company owned curricula as identified by the Senior Learning Consultant. • Facilitate content gathering from Subject Matter Experts to create course design and work closely to identify source information, coordinate SME reviews, and incorporate SME feedback • Ensure overall quality, integrity, organization and execution of the learning design meets agreed-to quality criteria and business objectives. • Develop instruction modules and materials based on design specifications. • Conduct audience and needs analyses to confirm appropriateness of learning objectives • Identify detailed learning objectives for each course based on business drivers and performance goals; map course content to appropriate learning objectives • Identify learning-related issues such as content sequencing, flow of information and relevancy of media • Evaluate materials to ensure that learning objectives have been met and appropriately satisfy performance gaps. • Identify continuous improvement areas based on lessons learned; • Monitor course assessment results against expected service level agreements • Monitor and respond to course-related issues during development and post development, escalating issues to Senior learning Consultant as required • Facilitate course pilots and/or dry runs • Teach Train-the-Trainer events
Salary: 4000 – 4500 p.m.
Qualifications Education: • Minimum Bachelors of degree (preferably in Instructional Design or educational technology but can be a related field such as Behavioural Sciences, Communication, Education and/or and Journalism) • Preferably Master's degree in Instructional Design or educational technology or cognitive psychology or other related subject with proven Instructional Systems Design experience or equivalent experience.
Work Experience • 4-6 years Instructional Systems Design experience or curriculum development • 4-6 years experience in developing performance solutions; • Preferably experience with developing training solutions for global audience; adjusting materials based on cultural needs, regional constraints and localization or translation considerations
Knowledge/Skill Requirements • 4-6 years experience with advanced instructional design techniques, adult learning theory, web-based development tools and various delivery methods (web-based, instructor-led, or virtual instructor-led training) for hard and soft skills curricula • 4-6 years demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills for global audiences - attention to detail to ensure quality • 4-6 years experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project) • 4-6 years demonstrated ability to plan and estimate tasks; knowledge of project management tools • 3-4 years Experience with e-learning development tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop - graphic design skills desired (ability to graphically illustrate concepts, writing and graphics should enhance the learning experience) • 3-4 years experience using Learning Content & Management Systems using Reusable Learning Objects, working with SCORM and AICC environments for course authoring and publishing • Proficient in speaking and writing Dutch and English • Previous experience in the energy industry is desirable but not required.
